As WOWZULU’s guest, get a taste of local culture in communities scattered across KwaZulu-Natal, sampling traditional Zulu dishes with the distinct flavour of each area while enjoying the warm hospitality of your hosts. Enjoy a traditional meal prepared by your hosts, or even better, join in and learn to cook a new dish.

At the WOWZULU Marketplace in Ballito, master chef Phumlani Mthembu will teach you to make ‘Kasi Taste’ dishes that are a fusion of Zulu and Indian flavours. Elsewhere in the province, you can enjoy a meaty ‘shisa nyama’ meal or learn to make and then taste traditional dishes including delicious Zulu steamed bread, dumplings or amangwinya (vetkoek), imfino, spinash or amadumbe (a sweet potato-like vegetable).
